On the ministry’s laboratories receiving international accreditation, Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani stated: “The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change possesses the latest advanced technologies and cutting-edge technology.”

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, honored the Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department for its role in achieving international accreditation for the environmental laboratory, according to ISO 17025:2017 standards, from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).

In this context, His Excellency praised the outstanding scientific achievement of the ministry’s environmental laboratory in obtaining this international accreditation. He noted that this accreditation underscores the ministry’s commitment to comprehensive development of all its facilities and laboratories by utilizing the latest advancements in technology and science.

During the ceremony, His Excellency emphasized that enhancing environmental work in Qatar and achieving the country’s vision for sustainable development requires a distinguished scientific approach using the latest equipment and technologies. This enables the laboratories to effectively perform their role in environmental work, including precise chemical, physical, and biological field, and laboratory tests of the Qatari environment. This, in turn, positively impacts overcoming local environmental challenges, preserving its components, and developing its resources.

He highlighted that this scientific achievement resulted from the efforts of the ministry’s skilled scientific and technical staff, who have accumulated extensive experience and are now capable of achieving highly accurate scientific results, with their findings recognized and accepted globally.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Abd Al-Hadi Nasser Al-Merri, Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs; Mr. Hassan Ali Qasmi, Director of the Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department; Mr. Abdullah Ali Al-Khalifi, Assistant Director of the Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department; and Dr. Marwa Mohammed Al-Ghanem, Head of the Environmental Laboratory Department.
