Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change to Launch on October 1
Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future (Earthna), a member of Qatar Foundation, announced the launch of the fourth edition of Qatar National Dialogue for Climate Change (QNDCC) 2024.
The event, which will be held on the 1-2 October at the Qatar National Convention Centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, will aim to strengthen collective climate action in Qatar and align shared visions for tackling climate change.
The announcement was made during a press conference hosted by Earthna at the “Think Bay” building in Education City to launch Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2024. The event was attended by Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al Sada, Assistant Undersecretary for Climate Change Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, along with several environmental experts, academics, and specialists from both Qatar and abroad. Representatives from the strategic partners of Qatar Sustainability Week 2024 were also present.
QNDCC 2024 will explore the latest innovations and opportunities in the fight against climate change and highlight local initiatives that address the issue and promote long-term environmental sustainability in Qatar. The two-day event will also provide a platform for collaboration and the exchange of ideas, by bringing together leaders from government, business, industry, academia and research organizations from Qatar and beyond.
In his speech during QSW 2024’s press conference, Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al Sada emphasized that the current edition of the Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change features diverse sessions aimed at sharing insights and experiences, as well as showcasing Qatar’s best environmental practices and climate action achievements. He noted that the dialogue will play a crucial role in fostering meaningful discussions among national institutions, helping to identify further steps and measures to address climate challenges.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Climate Change Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change also highlighted that the dialogue plays a key role in raising environmental awareness among different sectors and institutions. This effort supports one of the key objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, which is to cultivate environmental consciousness that values the preservation of Qatar’s environmental heritage.
Additionally, Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al Sada noted that this year’s Qatar Sustainability Week and the Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change mark two significant milestones in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change’s efforts to promote collaborative action in environmental sustainability and climate change across various sectors. This aligns with the commitment to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, which lays the foundation for harmonizing economic and societal development while prioritizing environmental protection and preservation.
Engineer Al Sada expressed the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change’s anticipation to witness widespread participation in the dialogue’s activities, aiming to strengthen efforts toward building a more sustainable future for generations to come.
