Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change: Qatari efforts to support green growth and achieve a sustainable future

The State of Qatar participated with a delegation from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in the World Green Growth Week, which was held in the South Korean capital, Seoul, from 14 to 18 October 2024.

 

The participating delegation was headed by H.E. Eng. Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Mahmoud, Undersecretary of the Ministry, who attended the ministerial session held on this occasion, which dealt with ways to address plastic pollution as part of efforts to promote green growth.

During the session, His Excellency stressed the State of Qatar’s commitment to intensify its efforts to support green growth and achieve a more sustainable future, noting that Qatar has developed the national measurement, reporting and verification system, which effectively contributes to confronting climate change, in addition to developing the national adaptation plan.

 

On the sidelines of the meeting, His Excellency the Undersecretary met with His Excellency Mr. Ban Ki-moon, President of the Global Green Growth Institute, and participated in meetings that addressed green growth practices in various fields, including the circular economy, greenhouse gas inventory, and green industries.
