Action plan to combat harmful Ghaf tree species

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Wildlife Development Department, organized the first coordination meeting to discuss the plan for combating Ghaf trees. This meeting was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality, Qatar University, and ExxonMobil Research Center.

The plan aims to define and coordinate the roles of the participating entities, agree on a timeline for the implementation of the Ghaf tree eradication plan in various areas of the country, and work towards their swift removal. This is crucial due to the significant environmental damage these trees cause, their threat to biodiversity, and their rapid spread.
