Great turnout at Ministry of Environment’s booth during International Day of Education event at Qatar Foundation
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change’s booth saw a large turnout during its participation in the International Day of Education event organized by Qatar Foundation.
The ministry, represented by the Public Relations and Communication Department – Environmental Awareness Division, showcased a variety of awareness programs and activities implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to enhance environmental awareness among students.
Mr. Farhoud Al-Hajri, Director of the Public Relations and Communication Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, expressed his pride in the ministry’s participation in this event, stating: “Our participation in the International Day of Education highlights the joint efforts to raise environmental awareness among students and build a generation that is conscious of sustainability issues and the protection of natural resources.”
He emphasized that the ministry’s participation is part of its efforts to enhance community partnership and spread the culture of environmental sustainability in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and its strategy in this field. He also pointed out that the Environmental Awareness Division provided a comprehensive overview of the programs targeted at schools and the community, including awareness lectures, research activities, and local and international engagements aimed at protecting the environment and promoting environmental awareness.
The booth was distinguished by the outstanding participation of two students, Haya Al-Yafei and Rosa Al-Kubaisi from Al-Nahda Primary School for Girls, who served as environmental ambassadors. They presented their initiatives with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, which included the release of endangered turtles and the planting of 3,000 saplings as part of the “Plant of Minds and Story Gardens” initiative, aimed at linking education with agriculture.
The ministry’s booth also received widespread praise from students, teachers, and event guests, who commended the quality initiatives that bring together the Ministries of Environment and Education, fostering sustainable environmental behavior among future generations.
This participation reflects the ministry’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with various institutions to achieve the country’s goals in environmental protection and addressing climate change challenges.
